1950s Red Musical Alarm Clock from Rhythm, Japan. A perfect mid century keynote

An eye-pop addition to your 1950s - 1960s room design - a red Rhythm musical alarm clock.

This manual winding clock remains in good condition, a testament to the expertise of Rhythm - one of Japan's first high-quality watch manufacturers to be established in the 1950s post-war period, when restructuring helped create precision tools and quality goods for export.

The design of this clock is evocative of mid-century geometric industrial design. Angled feet and metal silver strips on either side of the central face connote the panorama of the newly fashionable TV screen. A design that sits equally well in a mid-century room as in today's 21st century interiors.

The exterior box remains in good order with no chips, no splits, no cracks. The clock, in working order, has a beautiful red metal face with clean, large format numbers; the red surface is highly reflective. The silver dial turns to three settings, one of which is the alarm, one activating the music box, and one setting for no alarm.

The tick tock is audible, but quiet, while the music is gentle - a soothing alarm!
